I think he means it's overall easier, when the excuses, easy ones or tough ones, don't matter any more. Because they've melted/faded away as you've gotten better and changed as a person. You don't have to 'overcome them' when you become a version of yourself that allows those excuses to disappear all together bc you're focused on new habits/self.
