A common line of questions I get in my inboxes “Hey Oliur, I want to do X, how can I do X, where would you recommend I start”.
I reply and answer this question sometimes and the most common resolution we come to is that they just need to do the thing.
So many people fall in to a number of traps:
Need to know as much as possible before starting the thing
Waiting for the “right” moment to start the thing
They’re simply procrastinating
They’ve done everything else. They just haven’t done the thing.
You don’t need to be an expert. You don’t need to wait for the right moment. You just need to decide, this is it, I’m going to do the thing.
So go and do that thing.
The interchangeable EDC
My latest EDC video. I also share my watch collection, which I’ve gotten many requests for.
Link Lowdown
A collection of links to stuff I think are worth sharing.
Bolt — One of the most insane no code AI builders I’ve ever seen. You can ask it to build nearly anything and it’ll figure it out. This sort of stuff blows me my mind.
Cap.so — Pretty awesome looking screen recording software. A Loom alternative.
Sensei — A Mac app that can monitor your machine and optimize it.
Mind The Gap — Great article all the way from 2004 covering how wealth inequality is not as bad as people like to say, and that the general quality of life is the best it’s ever been.
Busy Bar — OK I need one of these. Such an awesome product.
Command X — Bring back cut and paste to Mac.
Analogue 3D — An modern N64. The website alone is fantastic.
New Mac Mini — If I didn’t need the portability of a Macbook, I would be buying this right away. Apple have made what I think is the perfect little desktop computer.
N10 — If you need a constant reminder to either focus on something or need a todo list that’s always present, this is the app.
focusedOS — Like the app I mentioned above, this app lets you focus on one window, blacking out everything else.
Nice post. I was looking for an app like N10 after watching someone’s startup coding stream on YouTube a while ago, now I’ve found it!
Thanks, enjoyed this edition!
