The Manual #30 - Value Deception
I’ve had these two tweets saved for a while. It’s amazing what people will do to not justify an investment in themselves.
I see this time and time again. Many people are willing to spend money on expensive designer clothing, cars, new gadgets and a lot more other crap. But won’t spend the same money on things that could bring up their own value.
It’s ok to buy a nice car, designer top or new phone. However it needs to go the other way too. Investing in yourself is even more important and can make you more valuable as a person.
We live in a world where you earn money and respect based on what value you can bring to others.

Link Lowdown
A collection of links to stuff I think are worth sharing.
Coffee — A tiny time tracker for your next big project.
Mona & Hubot Sans — Two awesome open source variable fonts from Github.
TinyWow — A set of tools that can do anything from convert files to remove backgrounds from images.
ImprovMX — Create email aliases. A good way to manage multiple emails and spam.
Magician — A pretty wild AI tool for Figma.
Intentionally making close friends — An interesting post and Hacker News thread. I’m fortunate enough to have quite a few close friends but something that stuck out to me is that friendships are rarely 50/50 and you shouldn’t be upset about that. Sometimes that’s just how it is and it doesn’t mean you should throw away people you have fun with.
SigmaOS — A new browser. Looks pretty interesting. There seems to be this movement to browsers almost acting like an OS, you do everything in them.
