Short and simple hard truths. Some controversial. Some learned from experience.
Karma doesn’t exist.
Good things happen to bad people. Bad things happen to good people.
Life is more random than you think.
You’re on your own. No one is coming to save you.
Failure and rejection builds grit.
Love yourself. Others will then love you.
No one likes to hang around with unhappy people.
People will use you. Don’t take it personally.
Initiative > smart.
Get fit now. Or regret it later.
Learn the difference between unhappiness and depression.
Instead of being upset something is over. Be happy that you had it.
The right partner can make or break your life.
You’re not that special.
Be more appreciative of what you already have.
Motivation gets you started. Discipline is what keeps you going. Focus more on being disciplined.
Create more than you consume.
Give less of a shit about what people think.
You’re stronger than you know.
Don’t listen to other people’s advice. Their story is not your story.
This could go on and on. Maybe I’ll explore this at a later date. Would love to hear some of your own.
NEW: Patreon Community and Private Discord
I’ve just launched a new Patreon community and private discord. I actually had one in 2020 but then my cancer came along and I had to put it to the side. I’m now relaunching and adding some key new benefits.
As well as behind-the-scenes content, I’ll be doing monthly Q&As, giving away premium products (AirPods, iPhones, iPads…etc), and having a private discord where I can have my own small like-minded community.
Apple Watch Ultra Review
TLDW: I was not expecting it to be as good as it was. But I still switched back to my Series 7.
Rating and Roasting Your Setups
A new episode in the series. To be honest they haven’t been performing as well as the first few so I’m not sure I’ll continue with this series. But we’ll see as I do enjoy it.
Money Making Superpower You Already Have
Came up with this video in an afternoon and recorded it whilst I had the spark. Already one of my best performing videos. Love rambling about this sort of stuff.
Link Lowdown
A collection of links to stuff I think are worth sharing.
Gather — Fantastic set of desk accessories.
Superlayer - Desktop widgets are back on the Mac.
How to build a personal webpage from scratch — If you know nothing about making a website from scratch, this could be useful.
Read Something Great — A great website curating high quality articles from around the web.
The Acceleration of Addictiveness — An old blog post but highlights how maybe we’re becoming addicted to other things at a quicker rate.
Obsidian 1.0 — Everyone seems to be raving about this. It looks like another Notion but I’ve seen Hacker News comments about how it’s changed their life.
Lucide — An open source icon pack put together by the community.
38 free logos — By the great logo designer Ford Riekwel.
Ai Presenter — Using AI to make great presentations.
How to make hand-drawn vectors fast — Great tutorial by Dann Petty.
Obsidian is great. I use it for university work, it’s fast and actually works offline. The plugins you can find are 👌.
Only thing I would add is that it's "iA presenter," not "AI presenter."
So, it's an off-shoot of the writing app, "iA Writer," and has nothing at all to do with artificial intelligence.
