A superpower that all of us have but don’t tap into enough or put in to action is the act of creating.
Wealth for a lot of people is the act of owning assets. Things like business and property. However buying a property requires a lot of money upfront. Something not a lot of us have. Buying a business is even riskier. It could cost less but how do you go about running it or managing employees if you haven’t done it before.
But I learned early on, now that we very much live in the digital era, you can create “digital assets” that can make you money from pretty much nothing.
I always think of my Tumblr themes business as a prime example. Because I spent the time learning HTML/CSS and Tumblr’s documentation, I was able to make Tumblr themes from scratch.
This is how much my themes have made since 2014. Divided over 8 years it’s around $86,000. To me that is insane. To make the same amount of profit from a property in 8 years would have probably required me to buy a $2m property.
My YouTube business is another example. I’m regularly making videos on content I think is valuable. Over time that business has built up into something that this month will make me over $40k alone. It’s not passive by any means but the act of creating something out of nothing is the superpower.
Everyone has the superpower of creation. Creating assets > buying assets.
Next Step
I’m in a unique position in my business career. I have both money and experience when it comes to running businesses but I’m struggling to come up with a new business idea. I’m at the stage where I’m keen to build a business that can be an 8 figure company.
I don’t see myself doing YouTube for the next 10 years. I enjoy doing it right now but like I’ve said in the past. Being a huge YouTuber or “internet famous” has never been my goal. My ideal situation would be to have multiple businesses making more than enough money that I don’t even need to be on social media, I could delete all of my profiles and still be making money.
By the way I’m very keen in hiring a full-time video assistant for my channel. Naturally not a remote role as I need someone in-house to help shoot footage.
New Wallpaper Packs
I’ve been very busy over the last month making new wallpaper packs. I’ve had the creative juices flowing!
Check them out and please tag me if you share your setups on the socials. Would love to see my wallpapers in action.
It’s been a very busy month for YouTube and I expect it to continue until the end of the year!

iPhone 14 Pro Review
This video may be one of my best yet. Spent a lot of time figuring out the look and flow of it. Really happy with how it turned out. Learned a few new things too.
Print-on-demand Dropshipping
Sharing how I created linxsupply.com and how you can easily create your own. I’m considering taking it up a notch and building a high-end print store where I can sell photos of my travels.
Link Lowdown
A collection of links to stuff I think are worth sharing.
How much money MrBeast makes — Graham Stephen gets behind the scenes to MrBeast. Insane to me that Beast Burger now makes $100m!
cal.com — A calendly alternative which is cheaper and you can even run it on your own server.
Patagonia boss gives away company to fight climate change — Amazing story and only makes me want to buy Patagonia stuff. What a legend.
Doo — Neat to do app for iOS and Mac.
Threads — A slack replacement.
Logitech Blue Sona — Got this recently and wow. It’s an incredible mic and is a competitor to the SM7B. I’d say it’s better as it doesn’t need a cloudlifter. It also looks a lot better.
Mode Sonnet — The best mechanical keyboard I’ve ever used. It’s incredible and would highly recommend if you want the best.
Ask me anything
Trying something new. Ask me anything! Questions will be answered in a YouTube livestream on my main channel, so make sure to have notifications enabled to be notified of when I go live.
Hi Oliur, great and informative stuff!
Just one remark, though: Patagonia has made a move that is only a marketing/PR stunt and nothing more. You can read different analyses online.
That 'Doo' app really got me interested! Looks like a great alternative to Microsoft To Do which never really got me anywhere (partly my fault obviously).
