Most people can only change when the pain of their current situation becomes greater than the pain of changing.
I think a lot about what it takes to make big life changes and take that extra step to make your life better.
That quote above resonated me a lot and made a lot of sense as to why I’ve done many things in my life.
The pain of living with parents who didn’t align with the way I wanted to live was greater than the pain required to move out.
The pain of having not enough money was greater than the pain to learn and gain new skills.
The pain of not being fit, not in shape and fat was greater than the pain required to fix my diet and hit the gym. I especially noticed this when I finished my chemotherapy after my cancer diagnosis. I hated the way I looked and was not happy with my physical being. (I’m still working on this one though and will mostly likely do so for the rest of my life).
Those are just three pains out of many experienced throughout life.
I’ve had friends who break up with their partner and the pain from that made them change. Whether it was maturing, getting in shape or simply leaving a person that wasn’t good for them.
Sometimes we need to hit a low point to find a way back up again. Pain and gain.
YouTube Notion Template
The Notion template I’ve been using in Notion to completely manage my YouTube channel. It’s super lean and designed for anyone and everyone to understand. It has a board for organising your videos and a template for outlining videos.
I’ve been using this very template for two years now and have been refining it over that time. If there any changes or updates, they will be free!
I switched my MacBook
I did end up returning my Midnight M2 MBA and replaced it with the Space Grey. I also share the apps I usually install right away and the accessories I use with it.
I’ll still be using my 14” MacBook Pro, the Air is mainly for light use around home and for when I travel.
How to make a website - Easy to hard
Really enjoyed making this video as I got to share my web design knowledge and skills which I rarely do. I go through my favourite website builders and what I would do in 2022.
5 habits that make a difference in my life
This video didn’t do as well as I hoped but I enjoyed sharing anyway. I feel it’s more of a personal video and I share more intimate details about how I live my life.
Link Lowdown
A collection of links to stuff I think are worth sharing.
Managing Mr Beast — Great video going into how one of Mr Beast’s managers helps run the biggest channel in the world.
Working hours of the Rich and Poor — I don’t think this accounts for the ultra-wealthy though as I’m sure it’s much less for them.
98.4% of day traders lose money — Day trading isn’t as lucrative as most people think. As expected, only the top 1% make any money.
Podcast guests are paying to appear on popular shows — This blew my mind when I read it but I’m surprised I didn’t even think of it before. It makes a lot of sense. Now I wonder how many podcasts I’ve listened to where the guest has paid to be on….hmmm.
Manrope — A free sans-serif variable font I’ve now added to the collection.
TIL about an easy way to share files between Mac apps — There’s always something new I learn about MacOS even after using it for 10 years.
Lumina Desk — A desk with a screen built in. Ngl I would buy one.
Pain make me a believer 😄😉
